#47. Astoria
Situated near the mouth of the Columbia River, Astoria, Ore., is a deepwater Pacific Ocean port that features very mild temperatures year round. The city serves as the western terminus of the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, a popular cross-country route for cyclists. The community is graced with several parks and walking trails, and citizens receive top health care from an award-winning Columbia Memorial Hospital.
