Partnership Shines Light on Life in Volusia County
Florida has a lot going for it, and Florida Power & Light Co. wants as many people as possible to know about all the state’s wonderful assets.
The company has launched a first-of-its-kind website called WonderFL.com, with its main goal to attract additional talented individuals to the Sunshine State. The site showcases attractive points about Florida, such as no state income tax and an affordable cost of living, as well as accolades recognizing the state as the No. 1 state for talent attraction (Lightcast 2023), among the top five job markets in America (WalletHub) and the most entrepreneurial state in the U.S. (The Digital Project Manager).
The WonderFL talent attraction campaign also features eight microsites that highlight individual regions within the state, including a microsite called LifeinVolusiaFL.com.
“This is an all-in-one resource for companies wanting to recruit talent, and it also provides useful information for newcomers and boomerangs to the state,” says Wes Hudgens, Florida Power & Light lead economic development project manager.
Life in Volusia
Team Volusia, Volusia County’s lead economic development organization, partnered with FPL to develop content for LifeinVolusiaFL.com, including highlights on culture, dining, schools, industries and other aspects of life in Volusia County.
The LifeinVolusiaFL.com website points out Volusia County assets such as 47 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches, rivers and lagoons, Daytona International Speedway, a vibrant culture and restaurant scene, Daytona Beach International Airport, and the presence of nearly 10 higher education institutions.
In addition to hospitality and tourism, Volusia County has strong economic sectors in advanced manufacturing, aviation and aerospace, logistics and distribution, health and life sciences, and insurance, among others.
“We want to make sure people looking for a new job and home know that Florida and its regions are ideal destinations for living, not just visiting,” Hudgens says. “New transplants and remote workers can just about work anywhere these days, so why not live here? Florida and Volusia County have a lot to offer those seeking long-term career growth.”
