About Carol Cowan
Carol Cowan began her writing career in 2006 as a staff writer for JournalCommunications. In 2010, she made the jump to full-time freelancer and continues to this day to write for all sectors of Journal publications. A frequent contributor to Livability.com, her work has also appeared in The Official North Carolina Travel Guide, the Lexington Visitor Planning Guide, and numerous community, business, and agriculture magazines. She has a story in nearly every issue of Tennessee Home & Farm.Carol lives in the Nashville area with the youngest of her seven (yep, count ‘em!) mostly grown kids and her rock-star husband, bassist for The Doobie Brothers, John Cowan. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and DIY television shows – more than actual DIY projects.
