Visit four of the state’s six national parks properties while immersing yourself in distinctly different environments – from hiking through Craters of the Moon National Monument’s lunar landscape of lava flows to learning the impactful history of Japanese American internment during World War II at Minidoka National Historic Site. See a sampling of excavated prehistoric fossils at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument, where the state fossil, the Hagerman horse, was discovered in 1928. At City of Rocks National Reserve, pitch a tent amid a “silent city” of towering granite spire rocks or campsites shaded by aspen and juniper before taking on any of the park’s 700-plus rock climbing routes or 22 miles of hiking trails.
